I assigned content on Khan Academy for this week. Please pay attention to due dates. There are two assignments due on Tuesday. The rest of the assignments are due Friday, but you need to work on them throughout the week--it's a unit on fractions. If you don't remember what we learned in class, there are videos built in that you can watch, and there are also hints. As always, let me know if you have any questions or need help. :) I will be changing my office hours to morning, so you can just connect to my zoom if you need me, or just want to say hi!
I created an assignment on Khan academy. They're quizzes, but they're review. If you get some wrong, it will give you a link of where you can go to practice, and then you can try the quiz again. Remember, you should be doing approximately 30 minutes of math a day, so don't do more than that unless you want to because you're really having fun! ;) Aidan, I saw that you already did one of the assignments-good job!
Also, there's a survey on the news tab (on this website). Have a good weekend, make good choices! :) Change of plans... I'm going to have you two work mostly on review on Khan Academy from this point forward. Please finish reading these directions first, then click on the button at the right. I think you will need to set up an account, or you can sign in with Google. It will send you email updates on your progress, along with other info. If you do not want those emails, I can help you find where to turn those off. I will be at Liberty today at 10 when you're working on math and would like to zoom with you at that time, if that works for you, to see what it looks like when you login to better help answer questions and guide you to where you need to go on the site. You are welcome to explore a bit, just like you did when we logged in to the ebook the first time :)
I am also adding a button for the ebook. CPM is offering the ebooks free through June due to school closures. Just click I agree, then select your book. You will have to do this every time, but you won't have to log in and remember usernames or passwords. I have a review activity for you two this week. Go to lesson 9.3.1. Make sure you read the intro and all of the directions. You are going to want to print out the resource page. Aidan, if you are not able to print a resource page, I have one at the school that I can have sent to you when I am at the school on Thursday.
This activity looks like a lot of fun! It will be challenging, but that's ok! It is a good review of concepts we have been working on so far this semester, and I thought it would be good to do some review before diving into new material remotely :) Today (Wednesday): work on problem 88. I do not expect you to finish today, but if you do send me your work. Do not spend an excessive about of time working on this problem at one time--unless of course you are really having fun with it, and I hope you do (have fun with it)! Whatever you get done today, make sure you take good notes so you can pick up where you left off tomorrow. Thursday: Finish working on 88, and if you have time and want the extra challenge (most of the hard work is already done) take a look at 89. Otherwise, start on 90. The main focus/question of 90 is this: "What mathematical ideas did you use as you thought about and worked on this problem?" Please answer this question in a comment on this post so we can discuss. Friday: Today you will be reflecting on your work over the last two days. Read and answer the questions in problem 91, and submit your responses (use the assignments tab above). You may type your responses rather than handwriting them. Please work through and discuss the work this week together as much as possible, if possible, as you will learn and retain more through discussion and sharing ideas. Also, remember that I am here for you and can video chat if you get stuck or have questions. Just post a comment and we will set a time, then click on the zoom link on my home page. I already miss working with you two! You always work so hard, and we have some really great math discussions :) Do you remember how to get to the ebook? If you have trouble, please let me know. I will try to respond to all questions and comments as soon as possible. Remember that I am here for you, and can zoom with you when you need me. If my "office" hours don't work for you, let me know and we can set up a different time. I will post an assignment tomorrow. Enjoy the sunshine! Please comment when you have seen and read this, and let me know if you can still get to the ebook :)
